Save on your grocery bill
Get tips and simple strategies to help reduce your grocery bills
Eat before you Shop
The first and foremost rule to save on groceries is not to be hungry while you shop. This always leads to temptations and you end up buying a whole list of things you do not want. So make sure you have a meal or a snack before you hit your grocery stores and stick to your list.
Stick to Your List
Always make a list of the groceries you need for your household before you go shopping. And always stick to your list.
Plan your Menu based on Weekly Circulars
The best way to save on groceries is to plan your meals based on what is on sale at your grocery store. Spend a little time going through your stores' weekly ad to get the specials and deals and plan your menu based on that. It also helps to comparison shop at 2-3 stores by viewing the weekly specials at each of the stores.

Get Seasonal
Always buy seasonal fruits and vegetables. This will help save tons on your grocery bill.
Using Coupons and Deals
Look for coupons and deals in the weekly circulars, newspapers and online only for the products you intend to purchase already. Stick to your list. Don't buy anything because you have a coupon.
Look for the manufactures site. They sometimes have coupons for the products you already use and can be printed and used in any store.

Bulk Purchases
Buy in bulk only when you intend to use the whole thing. Buying groceries at warehouse stores may not make sense for small families when you are not able to use all you bought.
Ask for a Price Match
If you found a good price for an item you wanted to buy today at another store, ask your regular grocery store if they will match the competitors price. If they do then you can avoid the hassle of driving to another store and wasting money on gas.
